Database Backup and Recovery Needs

Though many database systems nowadays incorporate tools for database backup and recovery in their infrastructure and interfaces, it is wise to comprehend what the entire backup and recovery process entails. With growing volumes of both personal and organizational information, there is definitely a need for safe backup and recovery. Maintain your database properly by making use of free backup software and data recovery techniques. Apart from the data files, database transaction logs also call for backing up. The regularity of performing backups entirely depends on your data requirements. There being a wide range of free backup software to select from, it is the responsibility of every computer user to select the best software for backup solutions.

Database failure can happen due to a wide range of reasons. It is wise to be familiar with some of these reasons so that you can integrate then in you recovery and backup plan. Media failure can cause data damage and loss. This happens when the media holding the transaction logs or data files fail. Data damage, corruption or loss can also happen due to user error. A catastrophic event can also cause database failure. Therefore, it is vital to have a database backup and recovery plan. Free backup software also comes in handy to enable you set up a back up of your database which will be a great relief in case your data gets damaged or lost.

If a database crashes and there is no plan of recovering it, the results can be very devastating to an organization as this can amount to data loss, revenue loss and dissatisfaction by customers. Whether an organization is small or big, backing up important data is of essence. Free backup software and a backup and recovery plan are vital in case disaster strikes. The backup should be able to include important database parts like the redo logs, data files and control files. Data backups normally protect against unexpected loss of data by offering a way through which original data can be restored. Generally, recovery identifies the various operations that are executed in restoration, rolling back and rolling forward a back up. This includes the operations and strategies that are put in place to protect the database from loss of data.

Database Backup and Recovery Needs

Though the database backup and recovery process can be intricate, it involves some basic principles. Firstly, there is a multiplexing of the online redo logs. After this, the database is run into an ARCHIVELOG mode after which the redo logs are archived to many locations. Then the many concurrent backups for all control files are maintained. Finally, regular backups of the physical data files are taken and stored safely; if possible, many copies are made. This is all possible with the aid of free backup software.

As long as there backups of the archive redo logs, recreating the original database is normally simple. A statement failure, process failure, instance failure, media failure or application/user error can lead to data loss. Make use of free backup software to secure your data. When backing up the database, there is a wide range of backup type to use such as the whole database backup, offline database backup, online database backup, datafile backup or tablespace backup. Backup and recovery for your database is vital to protect data from failures and corruption. Free backup software solutions offer you feature to protect data. A backup is important for any personal or organizational data just in case of database failure or destruction.

A List Of The World's Best Modern Fighter Jet Plane In 2011

A fighter jet plane is a military jet plane configured mainly for air-to-air fight with other jet plane, as contrary to a bomber, which is configured mainly to approach ground targets by firing bombs. Fighters are fast, small and maneuverable. Several fighters have secondary ground-attack abilities, and a few are dual-rolled as fighter-bombers; the term "fighter" is also sometimes used conversationally for devoted ground-attack aircraft. Fighter jet planes are the basic means by which armed forces acquire air superiority over their opponents in combat.

Modern Fighter Jet Planes:
Modern fighter jet planes are predominantly powered by one or two turbojet engines, and are furnished with radar as the basic technique of target acquisition. Armament consists primarily of air-to-air missiles with cannon as backup armament (usually between 20 to 30 mm in gauge); however, they can also often employ air-to-ground missile, as well as guided and unguided bombs.

List of main fighter jet planes currently being used by several armed forces is shown below;
EF 2000 Typhoon
F-117A Night Hawk
F-15C Eagle
F-16C Falcon
F-18E Super Homet
F 22A Raptor
Harrier GR9
Mirage 2000-5
SU 27 Flanker
Tornado ADV Mk3

A List Of The World's Best Modern Fighter Jet Plane In 2011

The Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor is fast, has a long range, and is more maneuverable than any other jet in the sky.

The World's Best Modern Fighter Jet Plane

The F-22A Raptor is a fifth generation modern fighter jet plane which employs stealth technology of fourth generation. It was earlier projected as an air superiority fighter for use against the Soviet Air Force, but is furnished for electronic warfare, signals intelligence roles and ground attack as well.

Features

First view/first kill in all surroundings- A combination of improved sensor capability, improved situational awareness and improved weapons allows first-kill chance against the threat. The F-22 owns the advanced suit of sensors that allow pilot to chase, identify, and hit the threat before it finds the F-22. Important effort is being put on cockpit figure and avionics fusion to improve the pilot's situational knowledge. Sophisticated avionic technologies provide the F-22 sensors to accumulate merge and display necessary data in the most valuable format to the pilot.

Decreased observables- Progresses in less-observable technologies allow importantly improve lethality and survivability against ground to air and air to air threats. The combination of F-22's decreased observability and supercruise emphasis the advantage of surprise in tactical surroundings.

Ultrasonic persistence- Especially in the military (non-afterburner) power, the F-22 engines create more drive than any current modern fighter engine. This feature provides the F-22 to expeditiously cruise at ultrasonic airspeeds without utilizing afterburner (supercruise). This ability greatly booms the F-22's controlling envelope in both range and speed over current modern fighters jet planes which must use afterburner to control at ultrasonic speeds.

Expanded maneuverability- The F-22 has been broadly tested, refined and designed aerodynamically on the demonstration and validation process and paired with high-maneuver capability. The advanced F-22 aerofigure and high thrust to weight allows the capacity to outmaneuver all projected and current threat aircraft.

Improved battle radius on interior fuel- To check the F-22 allows air superiority for rich-interdiction aircraft, it functions at medium and high elevation at ranges superior to modern generation air superiority aircraft.

Increased survivability and lethality- The above features provide an interactive effect that assures F-22 casualty against sophisticated air threat. The combination of supercruise drastically and reduced observability shrivels ground-to-air combat and downplays threat potentialities to occupy and hit the F-22.

Air to ground ability- The F-22 has another purpose to attack ground targets. The fighter jet will use on-board avionics for navigation and weapons delivery support and will be able to bearing 2 x 1,000 lbs Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs) inwardly.

Is Your Mouse Not Working Properly? Simple Steps to Fix it

Though the mouse is not the most robust part in a computer, if it has some malfunction, it would seriously affect your computer working well. Usually if a mouse is working irregularly, it would have problems like that the pointer is movable on the screen but later it freezes up, or sometimes the pointer may jump on the screen erratically, etc. If such failure happens, how can you repair it?

First of all, you need to clean the mouse pad. Because the pad may have a lot of dirt or grease as you drag and drop your mouse on it heaps of times.

Then if the first check can not work, go to the second step. But before you do this, you have to know what kind of mouse you are using.

Is Your Mouse Not Working Properly? Simple Steps to Fix it

If it is a ball mouse, you need to take the ball apart from your mouse and clear up all the obstruction like dust and dirt built-up on the ball and inside the mouse. With certain computer knowledge you even can disassemble the whole mouse and completely clean it.

If it is an optical mouse, you have to check its bottom to see whether there is something like a piece of tape there. Besides, test this mouse on another surface like a sheet of paper to see if it can work regularly.

If the mouse still fails to work, try to reinstall its driver, or download some driver tools like Driver Checker to help you find out the most suitable mouse driver.

Additionally, the opening or closing of a process or the high CPU usage also can make a bad impact on your mouse working. However, the failure also could be a broken mouse, or that it has been used too many times and should be obsoleted.

Recover Files Deleted From the Recycle Bin

The recycle bin stores files deleted from your system's hard disk. Any time you delete a file, it usually lands at the recycle bin. You can still open up the bin and restore the deleted files to their former positions. In any case, you can empty the recycle bin to keep your system clean. If you mistakenly wiped all the deleted files while you still need some of them, you may never restore them back through the normal process. Nevertheless, you can still have the files back by using a unique software tool.

When the files in recycle bin are completely wiped off, they actually disappear from the bin. However, they are not completely deleted from the system. They are stored in a special section of the system's hard disk. There's no way you can have access to the deleted files except you use a special software program.

To get the right software program, you need to make proper inquiries. You have to look for a program that requires a valid license key. You have to pay for this before you can use the software effectively. There are several data recovery software programs on-line. Some of them are available free of charge. You have to guard against using the free types since many of them are fake programs. They even come with malicious viruses that can easily render your system useless. You have to take out time to locate quality software that will recover your files. You can start by using recommended data recovery software that has a license key. All you need is to pay for the key and have the software downloaded.

Recover Files Deleted From the Recycle Bin

Once you download the software, you have to install it by following the simple on-screen instructions. After getting the program installed, you have to run a thorough scan of your system with it. The software will scan the hidden sections of your system's hard drive. At the end of the scan, it will display the list of the deleted files. It will also restore them to their former positions. The software will fix every other error noted on your system. You have to restart the system at the end of the recovery process.

In all, you have to take certain precaution before you start recovering your lost files with any software. You need to back up your vital system's documents and files. This will help you not to lose them if the recovery process fails. You can still consult a computer repairer to assist you if you're confused about the entire process.

How To Become a Computer Technician

So you want to be a Computer Technician, but you don't know how? Well guess what, I am going to tell you how.

First things first, I am blunt and to the point. I hate typing and thinking about grammar, that is why I went into the Technology field.

I have over 10 years experience in web design, computer networking, hardware, software, java programming, Apple & IBM (pc) format computers, telephone work, home theatres etc, etc, etc, & I make a lot of money doing. So basically I know what I am talking about & I am going to give you some advice that took me 10 long, hard years to learn.

How To Become a Computer Technician

1. MOST IMPORTANT: LEARN how to find the right answers. This can be true for ANY field, ANY person works in. You do not need to know everything, and guess what, if you spent the next 10 years reading, going to school & obtaining certifications, you still wouldn't know all there is to know in the field of Technology. But if you can figure out what resources will help you find a solution for you the fastest, then you are on your way.

2. Go to school and/or get certifications. Of course you need to learn about computers, software, hardware etc to become a computer technician. Find something that fits you, something that makes you excited to go. 4 year schools are not for every one, so make sure they are right for you if you choose to go. In my 4 years in college the only thing I learned to do is program at Level II in Java (a blind monkey could program at that level) and drink a lot of beer. 2 year schools are good because the get straight to the point about the actual jobs you will be doing out in the REAL world. (I was offered a teaching position at one of these 2 year schools at the ripe old age of 25, I laughed in their face & said no because of the salary they were offering). Certifications are important regardless if you get a 2 or 4 year degree. They tell other people that have NO CLUE about technology that you, indeed have a clue about technology

Did you follow that?

A couple of certifications that I highly recommend are the A+, Networking + and any Microsoft Support Certification.

3. Be patient, with yourself and the people you work with. You will always be learning if you become a computer technician. The average lifespan for a particular model of technology (ie computers) is about 2 years. Meaning as soon as you buy it, it is OLD. Things change everyday in Technology and you have to keep up with it!

4. Have a Positive Attitude! Remember, when people call you or you are dispatched out to work on someone's computer, TV etc, they usually are frustrated. Most people will try to fix the issue themselves before calling anyone because they are cheap. By the time you or I get there they are ready to cry. A positive and friendly attitude will go an EXTREMELY LONG WAY. You will be their savior and they will tell all their friends about you. This point might be the most difficult, especially in Technology because not very many people understand how it works and because our lives are so dependent on it.

That is it, 4 simple steps.

Can you handle it?

These are the 4 things I have tried to do over the last 10 years. Trust me, I am no genius, not by a long shot. But I figured out how to find the right answer for the problem, combined with an education, some certifications and the right attitude, I have people knocking down my door for my services.

Read this article a couple of times until this info really sinks in. This advice works so use it!

Stop sitting there and get busy!

For more information on How To Become a Computer Technician, check out a couple of this sites I have listed in my bio, those will help.

Good Luck!

Primary Master Hard Disk Failure IDE Hard Disk Error and Recovery

IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) is a commonly used hard drive interface. Motherboards are generally provided with two IDE connectors, IDE0 (Primary IDE) and IDE1 (Secondary IDE). To each of the IDE connector, we can attach two devices at the maximum, where one is given the highest priority and referred as Master Drive while the second one is given low priority and is referred as Slave drive. But sometimes, system prompts that it can't recognize the IDE hard drive as it has failed. These are the cases when Hard Disk Recovery becomes necessary to retrieve lost data.

One of the symptoms that it shows, while hard disk failure is the occurrence of error messages as:
"Primary Master Hard Disk Failure"

As the error message suggests, system is referring to failure of primary master hard drive. It is also sometimes denoted as drive 0, which is entirely dependent upon number of drives installed and BIOS type.

Primary Master Hard Disk Failure IDE Hard Disk Error and Recovery

Cause of Error Message:

Hard disk has failed to correctly communicate with the system, most likely due to physical failure. The corresponding causes could be: read/write head crash, actuator arm failure, spindle motor crash, disk controller problems, firmware corruption or electronic issues. In few cases, bad cabling could also be a root cause for this error message. These cables may turn faulty due to issues like heat, wear and tear etc.

Solution

Users are required to consider following solutions:
o If hard disk has gone physically bad, system user should immediately turn it off. The hard drive should be replaced with a new one and data can be restored from a recent backup on the new drive. If backup is unavailable or faulty, Data Recovery service can serve the purpose of optimum recovery.

o If bad cabling is the issue, user can replace the faulty cables with new ones.

About Data Recovery Service

Hard Disk Recovery is customized assistance provided by different companies to extract lost information from failed hard drives. A physically failed hard drive is first opened in sterile lab environment of Clean Room and analyzed to figure out the cause of failure. It is a sophisticated process with various hardware, firmware and software level steps. It consists of procedures like repair and replacement of damaged disk internals, disk cloning and more.

Data Recovery experts maintain complete data integrity along with highly advanced recovery procedures. Our recovery solutions serve almost all makes and models of hard drives such as SCSI, SATA, EIDE and IDE. We also provide finest recovery for modern flash storage based SSDs (Solid State Drives).

Which is Faster Wireless Router Or Wired Internet?

It is commonly known by data networking technicians that a wired network for Internet connectivity is faster than Internet connectivity from a wireless router. But what is not commonly known is why. A router is a device that is used to connect one network, such as the Internet, to a Local Area Network (LAN) that has several connected devices such as computers. Wired Local Area Networks commonly use the Ethernet protocol for data communications. This protocol generally has bandwidth speeds from 10Mb/s (megabits per second) to 1000Mb/s with 100Mb/s being the most commonly used for networking computers in most homes and offices. The Ethernet data communication protocol uses full-duplex communication; that is, it can send and receive data at the same time.

Internet Service Providers mostly offer high speed broadband services up to 1.5Mb/s which are defined in terms of the maximum download speed because several common consumer broadband technologies have a slower maximum upload speed.

A router as the name implies, distributes data packets from the Internet to each requesting computer connected to it. This is done in an orderly manner by using high speed electrical switches. The maximum rate at which the router can switch the data packets also determines the maximum speed of operation of the Local Area Network. If you have too many computers connected off the router, the router can become a speed bottleneck. So in theory, if you use a 100Mb/s Ethernet cable to connect to your Internet Service Provider, then your Internet connection will not slow down as most broadband Internet Services for home use peak out at around 1.5Mb/s, and business use peaks out at about 10Mb/s (but shared across many computers).

Which is Faster Wireless Router Or Wired Internet?

With wireless data networks, the most widely used protocol is the IEEE 802.11 standard. This standard has had many revisions over the past few years and the latest is the 802.11n version. The 802.11n version can in theory work up to 300Mb/s whereas the earlier 802.11b version works up to 11Mb/s and the 802.11g works up to 54Mb/s. But wireless routers only provide wireless data connectivity using a half-duplex protocol (either send or receive data but not both at same time) and this makes them slower than wired Ethernet connections. But there are a few other factors that make wireless networks slower than wired networks due to signal and data processing overheads. The wireless signal can be susceptible to local interference from other nearby electrical equipment and this can cause the performance of the wireless network to degrade. When the wireless signal degrades, the wireless router must perform more data error corrections to maintain the integrity of the data and this causes delays in distributing the data to and from its destination and slows down the connection.

If wireless security protocols are also used to encrypt the data, this requires additional data processing to be undertaken that can also limit the performance by introducing inherent latency delays. Hard-wired networks do not need to have the data packets encrypted because they are physically secured in most buildings whereas wireless networks cover areas that are not secured and hence the data needs to be encrypted to secure it from unauthorized users.

For better performance Internet connectivity, use a wired cable if you can because it is physically secure, allows faster performance, costs less, and is not as susceptible to electrical interference compared to wireless connectivity.

In summary, if you use your computer for gaming, voice over IP, or real-time collaboration, then you are better off using a wired cable network connection to the router that connects to the Internet Service Provider.

How to Recover Deleted Emails and Restore Them Completely

It can happen to anyone. We accidentally delete an email that we really need. And it just happened to be important work file, attachment or picture. So now what? How can I recover that email? Is it at all possible? Surely, it can be permanently deleted?

Well, there is good news and bad news.

Let's start with the good news.

How to Recover Deleted Emails and Restore Them Completely

Restoring Deleted Emails

If you delete an email, it hasn't really gone anywhere. Even if you've emptied your recycle bin or the "Trash" folder in your Inbox - the email still isn't deleted. It's just that your computer system now has no way to figure out where it is. But it's there, still on your hard drive. By using special email recovery tools you can recover deleted emails because these programs identify these 'missing' files and can bring them back to life.

Now the bad news.

Act Quickly and Increase Your Chances

The bad news is you have to act quickly. You only have a small time-frame in which to try to attempt to recover your lost email. Every minute that you waste and continue to use the drive for anything that isn't related to recovering your emails, you severely decrease your chances of successful email recovery. Why?

Well, because your hard drive is constantly overwriting files to make space for new information you put into it. If your hard drive is full and there is not much space or memory available - it is highly probable that the email has already been overwritten and deleted - permanently.

Other Problems with Recovering Deleted Emails

Not all deleted or lost emails go to "Trash" folder. If you have suffered a computer crash or hardware failure or your operating system is corrupted in some way, then it is unlikely that emails you have deleted can be recovered.

Also, if you haven't opened the email at all or it hasn't been deleted the usual way due to file corruption, you probably will have less of a chance to recover and restore the email in its entirety.

Nothing to Lose

Recover deleted email programs search and locate the emails that you have deleted. You can search by entering a specific keyword for example. Then, you can choose to preview the email to see it's contents and if it's been recovered in its original state by the program. You can also select to scan for what ever email program you are using (and need to recover) - either web based emails such as Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail or Outlook Express.

Best bit is this. Most of these email recovery programs are free to download. When they start scanning your hard drive looking for the deleted email and then manage to find it and when you are completely satisfied that that's your missing email - then you can then proceed to purchase the software.

In essence, you have nothing to lose (if the email is not there - it's not there) and everything to gain.

Well, at least you can get your deleted email back.

15 Ways For Teachers to Get Organized For the Beginning of the School Year

All teachers need a user-friendly system to help stay on top of the endless marking, checking and workpages. Plan as thoroughly as you can and if you don't already have one, develop a system of organization. It's truly amazing how much paperwork and marking goes into the first year. It's easy for a new teacher to feel overwhelmed and confused. Try to avoid these initial feelings by planning your lessons ahead as much as you can. Rely on a system that is easy and user friendly. Consider these tips when organizing or opening your classroom for the fall semester.

Remember, being well organized and having well prepared lessons are also important to having a well-managed class.

1) Have a computer backup plan. Purchase a flash drive, a hard drive, or consider creating a Google documents account.

15 Ways For Teachers to Get Organized For the Beginning of the School Year

2) If you use a paper-based program, prepare everything you need for a smooth entry into the school year. Prepare important calendar dates; wait until your class is established to copy in the students. If you've working with an electronic system, decide on the grade weights or averaging system and establish the formula in the software.

Make sure you have a storage plan.

3) Have a plan for storing handouts like a stacking/filing system and a specific location for finding those stacks. Keep only 1 master copy of each file and recycle last year's bulk copies. Make sure you have a copy on your computer!

4) Prepare a make-up work plan and location that is ready for action by the first day of school. You never know when you'll need it!

5) Choose a location for this year's paperwork. If you keep an individual student file for each student, have an organizational system for each class. If you keep a separate file for each course or section, organize by that system too. Try really, really, really hard to have an empty file cabinet drawer for this year. You can at least lay the papers down in the file cabinet and close the drawer, even if there's no time or perhaps need to file in folders.

6) Old pictures and newspaper clippings tend to yellow and turn brittle. Laminate colorful pictures and recycle the rest. Libraries are a great place to donate unwanted textbooks and old readers that students no longer need.

7) For teachers in a staff teaching the same grade(s), a communal file or folder can be helpful for quick and easy access of workpages. Again, these should be divided into skill-sets and subjects.

Organize your own supplementary resource material. This can be a teacher's checklist that you consult and use frequently, some uplifting words for bad days, or a a list of reminders.

9) Have a folder with the school policies and regulations. You should especially know where you stand in terms of how your school deals with discipline problems. Having this file within easy access will definitely help you when you are confronted with difficult and unanticipated classroom situations, which undoubtedly will happen.

10) If you are a reading teacher, you might want to have a folder for informal reading comments as you listen to your students read the first week. Pre-assessments e-assessments) during the first weeks of school are especially important for getting to know your students.

11) Have folders with letters ready to send home on first or second day to parents. You may consider a separate drawer with different letter folders.

12) Keep a folder with the necessary handouts for any new student that may arrive a week or a month later. There's nothing worse than running around the room looking for important handouts for a new student!

13) If applicable, hang a bus list. Keep an extra copy in your folder.

14) Make sure you have a schedule for lunch and PE posted. This is VERY important to the students. Again, keep a master copy in your folder.

15) Have a folder with blank journal templates for the first day of school. Younger students can write a letter to their parents telling them all the things they learned that day. Older ones can write a list of goals setting their intentions for a good school year. Keep additional folders of blank seating charts, blank papers and other templates.

How to Recover iPod Music Files Accidentally Deleted Or Lost From Corrupt Or Formatted iPod

iPods have become an integral part of many people's lives , they are an extremely valued and cherished possession for most people. We store most of our media on our iPod device including all of our songs, videos or photos that we consider as meaningful, and it is a collection that we amass over an extended period of time. So what the hell are we supposed to do when all that data disappears before your very eyes because it gets accidentally deleted or lost? Is there any way to recover iPod music files if they have been lost due to a corrupt or formatted iPod or have been accidentally deleted/lost?

Well if you somehow managed to delete or lose all of your favorite songs, videos or photos of your iPod I think you will be pretty happy to know that they haven't been permanently deleted or lost and can still be recovered. Even if your iPod is frozen, corrupted, been formatted or you accidentally hit the iTunes restore button, you can still recover all of your music and other files. With the aid of good iPod recovery software it is possible to restore all of your music files very easily these days, however success depends more or less on how quickly you act!

You must act quickly due to the fact that when you delete or lose a file from your iPod it isn't actually permanently erased from the hard drive. What actually happens is that the space that was occupied by that particular file is now available as free and re-useable space. So until that space is re-used and overwritten by a new file (songs, videos, photos etc.) your music and videos are still there and can be easily retrieved. Therefore you must act fast and try not to upload any new songs or videos onto the iPod, because any new data you put on the iPod could possibly overwrite your previous collection.

Here are some common situations that many iPod users face who wish to recover Songs from their iPod:

- You plugged your iPod into a computer, iTunes started up and you watched all the music and files on your iPod suddenly disappear.

- Or you re-installed windows plugged your iPod in, let iTunes start up and all the songs were gone.

- Or another classic case is you connected your iPod to a friend's computer, iTunes started up and all your songs were gone and you were updated with your friend's tunes.

All these problems occur due to the iTunes auto sync feature, which is an option in the iTunes software. What happens when auto sync is enabled is that when you plug in your iPod to the computer it automatically updates the files on your iPod with whatever is in the iTunes library on the connected computer. It is a stupid feature if you ask me, and it has caused much grief for many iPod users around the world.

- Other common situations are if you accidentally hit the restore button in tunes and formatted the iPod. Or if the iPod is frozen and displays an Exclamation Mark and Folder Icon or it simply doesn't start at all.

So if you are stuck in some of the above predicaments then don't worry, you can still recover your lost songs, videos, and pictures from your iPod if you act quick enough. The files are recoverable due to the fact that your iPod doesn't overwrite the songs and videos straight away, so until you upload the iPod with any new files all of your old music, video and photo collection can still be recovered.

Therefore if you wish to recover iPod music files that have been lost because your iPod is corrupt or formatted then you must obtain a good iPod recovery software, and you should have all your favorite songs back in no time. The good news is that most of these software's offer a free download so you can test them out and see if your files are recoverable at absolutely no cost.
